The Altman Locker Room project was originally started in 2007 with a donation of shelving boards from Brian Hoffmann ’97 of Home Depot.
The CFA and Citadel Facilities Group joined into a joint venture on this project in July. The CFA furnished the labor and supervision and The Citadel the paint. Again, The CFA used Charleston County Detention Center Community Service workers (4) and The Citadel furnished a mini van for transportation.
Bob Carson ’73, supplied his carpenters to install boards and metal brackets for shelves. Jeff Watson ’59 John Carlisle ’64 supervised, and Mike Groshon ’76 from Citadel Athletic Department arranged for lunches. All surfaces got two coats of epoxy paint. This project took six days to complete.
The CFA purchased 2’x2′ football helmet signs with the school logos of each SoCon schools that play football and two signs with The Citadel logos that were placed at each end of locker room along with this year’s theme, “We Believe” sign over exit to the stadium.
